This book has transformed the way I look at IT. Working in IT has been very interesting and challenging, but this book helps me understand how to approach problems and solve them with a Team. Great job to the authors.
Storytelling about DevOps from bigger perspective. I have the newest edition and I bought the old edition to my subordinates. The new one has been bu dled with DevOps excerpt. You should accompany it with Project Unicorn.
What a great way to introduce and teach some fairly complex theory. Rather than how-to books that try to explain and convince you an idea or approach is better, the novelization helps you discover the “why” along with the book’s characters. Truly “The Goal” for the 21st century tech industry. Dr. Goldratt would be proud.
I'm a career technical writer with a lot of IS/IT experience, currently writing IT policies for a fortune 500 company. The CISO recommended this book to me, and I will now recommend it to anyone working, or especially managing, in IT!
The book applies lean, agile principals to a DevOps nightmare scenario in a humerous fashion where the protagonist has a mentor and good people around him and can step through illustration after illustration of improving workflow, quality, security, etc., etc.
It is written in an engaging fashion which is hard to put down. There is a large element of vicarious pain and frustration, but the doses are followed with quick wins and encouragements which maintain the readability.
Props to goodwill. Product was labeled as 'acceptable' and came in very good condition.
Book itself I've found it good so far.. anyone who has been in this line of work will commiserate with Bill.

With the help of a prospective board member and his mysterious philosophy of The Three Ways, Bill starts to see that IT work has more in common with a manufacturing plant work than he ever imagined. With the clock ticking, Bill must organize work flow streamline interdepartmental communications, and effectively serve the other business functions at Parts Unlimited.
