 About the Author

BRIAN OVERLAND is the author of over a dozen books on programming, including Python Without Fear and C++ for the Impatient. In his ten years at Microsoft he was a software tester, programmer/writer, and manager. He was the lead writer and overall documentation project lead for Visual Basic 1.0. With all the courses, books, tutorials, and manuals he’s produced, he’s taught hundreds of thousands of people how to program.
JOHN BENNETT was formerly a senior software engineer at Proximity Technology, Franklin Electronic Publishing, and Microsoft Corporation. More recently, he has developed new programming languages using Python as a prototyping tool. He has worked on a variety of software projects, including a handheld spellchecker and East Asian handwriting recognition software. He holds nine U.S. patents.
